Late Night Ponderings...

It's 1:49am and I should be in bed, sleeping with my husband (oh come on, I didn't mean it like that). Instead I am sitting on the couch, eating Mac 'n Cheese, watching the end of She's All That. Wow, and I thought I was lame before I went back to working nights. Actual night shift isn't bad at all. The less frantic pace is a nice change and I have more time to spend with my patients. The shift diff is nice too :-) It just seems to be the rest of my life that is all out of whack. I'm getting plenty of sleep, but I'm awake at odd hours. I should be doing a lot of things right now - i.e. cleaning the house, finishing that apron I started a few weeks back, putting away the Easter decorations (I know, I know, Easter was two weeks ago), preparing meals for the week, working out at the gym, further reviewing my new benefits package, etc. The problem is that I don't feel like doing any of those things. Even though I am wide awake, it's dark out, the house is quiet, and it just seems like the perfect time to veg out, surf the net, update our blog, and generally be non-productive. Plus I don't want to go to our neighborhood gym alone in the middle of the night and I don't think Casey would like the sound of me vacuuming right now. Anyway, that's the update on my life these days. Hopefully as I transition back to working nights I'll find a rhythm that works a little better for me. Okay, I'm off to enjoy the next terrible late night movie - Jungle2Jungle with Tim Allen and try really hard to not order a ShamWow during the commercial breaks...

I'm leaving, on a jet plane...

...don't know when I'll be back again. Okay, I'll be back on Sunday, but I'm headed out of town tomorrow morning. I'm heading up to Colorado for some sewing and some good fun with Casey's family. Hopefully I'll have some fun projects to share with you when I get back. Have a great weekend everyone :-)

Amazing Date Night

We had the most fun date night ever last night! Fountain Hills had an outdoor movie night at the lake - and they were showing Kung Fu Panda! I have been wanting to see that movie since it came out and I can't think of a better venue. It was a beautiful clear evening, perfect for movie watching under the stars. We took a blanket, our picnic dinner (chicken, mashed potatoes, tomato-feta-basil salad, pineapple), and some homemade caramel corn (recipe here) and had ourselves a great time. The movie was fun, the food tasty, and the company unbeatable. It was a little more chilly than I thought it would be, but overall a superfun evening! Oh, and it was FREE - even better :0)

Like a moth to a flame

In order to finish my Easter eggs, I had to swing by Joann's last night to pick up some more batting. Well, I of course had to walk past rows and rows of beautiful fabric to get to the batting. I tried to be strong but it's tough to do after working for twelve hours. Ten minutes, one coupon, and a few bucks later I was on my way home with some fabulous spring fabric. I absolutely love the texture of the fabric on the left and the print of the one in the middle. I see a fresh, springy apron in my near future. I'll definitely share the results of my efforts with all of you, my faithful readers. (I love you both!)
